Prof. Edy discusses the utilization of sunlight as an energy source. “In the era of renewable energy utilization, Indonesia can harness the abundance of sunlight, and how to harness it wisely and sustainably,” he explained. DSSCs as an alternative take solar radiation into energy. DSSC technology is projected to play an important role as a sustainable, low-cost, and accessible renewable energy solution. “The uniqueness of DSSCs allows shape flexibility, adaptability at low illumination, as well as the potential use of local materials as future applications,” he continued.

DSSC as an applied technology provides opportunities for renewable energy education in schools and universities, community training for simple solar module assembly. Thus realizing energy independence for farmers and fishermen through portable panels.
