Guest Lecture of Biology Department, FMIPA UNEJ Presents Two Professors from Germany

The Department of Biology, FMIPA UNEJ, held a guest lecture related to biomedicine and machine learning (25/4). Two professors from Germany were present, namely Prof. Dr. Thiru. Velavan from Universitätsklinikum Tübingen and Prof. Dr. Claus-Thomas Bock of the Robert Koch-Institut, Berlin. The guest lecture was opened directly by the Dean of FMIPA UNEJ, Prof. Drs. Dafik, M.Sc., Ph.D. Followed by the presentation of souvenirs from FMIPA to the two professors from Germany. Next, Prof. Dr.rer.nat. Kartika Senjarini, S.Si., M.Si., introduces the two processors as collaborators on the Global PACE-UP project, Expert Seminar. The guest lecture session was moderated by Dr.rer.nat. Fuad Bahrul Ulum, S.Si., M.Sc., by inviting Prof. Velavan to start the first speech session.

Prof. Velava presented for one hour two main topics, namely research on the inventory of mosquitoes as carriers of arboviruses with the title “Spatial and temporal distribution of vectors and associated arboviruses in Vietnam” and material from Tran Duc Khan regarding artificial intelligence for mosquito identification with the title “Mosquito Identification using Deep Learning and Multispectral Aerial Imagery Dataset for Water Body Detection.” Prof. Velavan touched on many types of mosquitoes in Vietnam and pointed out that the types of mosquitoes found in subtropical areas or the northern side of Vietnam are different from the types often found in the southern region of Vietnam, which has a tropical climate. Halal bi Halal Eid al-Fitr 1445 H Big Family of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, University of Jember

“Ramadan has passed; hopefully we will be forgiven, all sins will be erased, and we can be reunited with Ramadhan next year,” began the lecture of the Dean of FMIPA UNEJ, Prof. Drs. Dafik, M.Sc., Ph.D., in the Halal bi Halal event for the Big Family of FMIPA UNEJ (23/4). In his lecture, the dean touched on faith and sincerity when welcoming and carrying out worship in the month of Ramadan. “To get maghfiroh, you need faith accompanied by sincerity, because fasting is a direct matter with Allah SWT, so sincerity is the main capital, not for something and for something in carrying it out,” he continued.

It is also said that sincerity is more difficult than istiqomah because sincerity glorifies the name of Allah SWT. “So even though we are ignored by people, we are still willing to do something for the sake of Allah; that is a very noble act,” said the dean in front of FMIPA residents and also the retired staff present. Until researchers from America raised sincerity in a study entitled Six Pillars of Character, which includes several characters, including trustworthiness, which includes sincerity, which means sincerity. Inauguration of Three Professors at the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, University of Jember

The Chair of the Jember University Senate confirmed eight professors or professors at the Jember University Senate Meeting at the Jember University Auditorium (29/1). Three of them are professors from UNEJ’s Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, namely Prof. Dr. Anak Agung Istri Ratnadewi, S.Si., M.Si., as a professor in the field of biochemistry in the Chemistry Department, FMIPA. Prof. Dr. Kahar Muzakhar, S.Si., is a professor in the field of microbiology in the Biology Department, FMIPA. And Prof. Dr. rer. nat. Kartika Senjarini, S.Si., M.Si., a professor in the field of molecular biology who is also in the biology department at FMIPA UNEJ. The senate meeting was attended by UNEJ leadership, the Rector and Vice Rector, senate members, and stakeholders at the University of Jember.

“Congratulations and success to the three professors who have just been inaugurated; it is a matter of pride for the FMIPA academic community, and now there are seven professors at FMIPA UNEJ,” said Drs. Achmad Sjaifullah, M.Sc., Ph.D., Plt. Dean of FMIPA UNEJ. The Dean said that, apart from professors, FMIPA also encourages and provides assistance to all FMIPA lecturers in accelerating the promotion of promotions and functional positions. Good luck, Dr. Ir. Iwan Taruna, M.Eng., IPM. Rector of Jember University for the 2024-2028 period

The election for the Chancellor of the University of Jember for the 2024–2028 period was completed on January 4, 2024. Dr. Ir. Iwan Taruna, M.Eng., IPM, was declared victorious over the other two candidates. Thus, the man who was born on October 5, 1969, continued his leadership as Chancellor of Jember University for the second time. “Congratulations and success to Mr. Iwan Taruna; hopefully he will be given smoothness and ease in leading the University of Jember for the next four years,” said Drs. Achmad Sjaifullah, M.Sc., Ph.D., Dean of FMIPA Jember University.

For your information, in the election for the chancellor (pilrek) of the University of Jember this period, there were 127 votes being contested. In detail, 83 Senate votes are equivalent to 65 percent of the vote, and 44 votes by the Kementerian Pendidikan, Kebudayaan, Riset, dan Teknologi (Kemendikbudristek) of the Republic of Indonesia are equivalent to 35 percent of the vote. The event took place during a closed senate meeting at the UNEJ Rectorate Building. The regional election process was short, starting at 09.00 and ending at 11.30. Congratulations and Success! FMIPA University of Jember Has Three New Professors  

FMIPA Jember University increased the number of professors after the Kementerian Pendidikan, Kebudayaan, Riset, dan Teknologi appointed three lecturers as professors. First Prof. Dr. Anak Agung Istri Ratnadewi, S.Si., M.Si., is a professor in the field of biochemistry in the Chemistry Department, FMIPA. Prof. Dr. Kahar Muzakhar, S.Si., is a professor in the field of microbiology in the Biology Department, FMIPA. And the third is Prof. Dr. rer. nat. Kartika Senjarini, S.Si., M.Si., is a professor in the field of molecular biology, which is also in the Biology Department, FMIPA UNEJ.

“Congratulations and success to the three new professors; it is a matter of pride for us, the FMIPA academic community, for this appointment, so that now there are seven professors at FMIPA UNEJ,” said Drs. Achmad Sjaifullah, M.Sc., Ph.D. Dean of FMIPA, some time ago. The Dean also said that, apart from professors, he also encouraged and provided assistance to all FMIPA lecturers in managing promotions and functional positions. “We pay attention, so we create a special quarantine for lecturers who are committed to fulfilling PAK requirements,” he continued.
