Morning Harmony of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, University of Jember: Creating, Innovating and Achieving

The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences hosted the Morning Harmony of Jember University (24/1). It began with joint exercise attended by the Rector, Vice Rector, UNEJ Senate, all Deans and heads of institutions within the University of Jember. Also participating were retired UNEJ, UNEJ academic community and Dharma Wanita Persatuan. “I would like to express my gratitude to FMIPA as the host of the morning harmony which is a routine meeting to exercise together, socialize and communicate,” said the Rector of Jember University, Dr. Ir. Iwan Taruna, M.Eng, IPM. It was also said that there was an idea for the implementation of the morning harmony to be adjusted to the dies of each faculty. Iwan Taruna was enthusiastic about the FMIPA morning harmony event which also featured study program products and also held several sports matches.

At the end of his speech, the UNEJ Rector drew the host for the next morning harmony. “For the next morning harmony we are moving a little to the south, FASILKOM will be the next host,” he concluded. Together with the Dean of FMIPA, the UNEJ Rector was pleased to hand over the main draw to the winner. Previously in his speech, Prof. Drs. Dafik, M.Sc., Ph.D. echoed the motto of FMIPA UNEJ. “With the motto of Creating, Innovating and Achieving, FMIPA will continue to improve in order to realize the symbol of three point five to the power of four for students,” he said. He continued, the first 3.5 as much as possible in 3.5 years FMIPA students can take the thesis exam, second as much as possible to get a GPA of 3.5. Continue reading

Dean of FMIPA Officially Inaugurates ORMAWA FMIPA Jember University in 2025

The Dean of the FMIPA Faculty at UNEJ, Prof. Drs. Dafik, M.Sc., Ph.D., officially swore in the new leadership of the ORMAWA (Student Organizations) at FMIPA UNEJ for the 2025 term on January 20, 2025, in the FMIPA Physics Department Auditorium. In his speech, the Dean encouraged the new leaders to continue the programs from the previous leadership. “To the new leaders, continue the work of the outgoing leaders, keep developing for the progress of the organization, and help achieve recognition for FMIPA,” said the Dean. He emphasized that the goal of the FMIPA recognition program is to promote the faculty’s name, and hopes ORMAWA will be actively involved in it.

Prof. Dafik also agreed with the theme of the inauguration, which is “ORMAWA Synergy to Create a Creative, Innovative, and Accomplished FMIPA UNEJ.” He shared that this slogan was first introduced when he started his leadership, along with a motto for students: “Three point five to the power of four.” This slogan will guide the progress of FMIPA, especially for students, and the ORMAWA leaders are expected to play a key role. “The ORMAWA leaders must lead by example, inspire in the middle, and provide support from behind so that we can all work together with FMIPA,” he concluded. The Bachelor’s Degree Program in Mathematics at FMIPA UNEJ is finalizing the evaluation of the LAMSAMA accreditation documents

The Bachelor’s Degree Program in Mathematics at FMIPA UNEJ held a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) to evaluate the LAMSAMA accreditation documents at Grand Valonia (January 11-12). The session featured support from Dr. Yulia Indrawati, S.E., M.Si., and Riska Rian Fauziah, S.Pt., M.Sc., M.P., Ph.D., from the Quality Assurance and Learning Development Institution (LPMPP) of the University of Jember. The event was also attended by the Vice Dean I of FMIPA, Dra. Hari Sulistiyowati, M.Sc., Ph.D., and Vice Dean II of FMIPA, Dr. Esti Utarti, S.P., M.Si. “Over the next two days, we will discuss the evaluation of the LAMSAMA accreditation documents for the Mathematics Bachelor’s program with guidance from LPMPP, and we hope for a positive result, which is an EXCELLENT accreditation,” said the Vice Dean I of FMIPA.

For two days, the accreditation task force team for the Mathematics Bachelor’s program at FMIPA worked on aligning the Program Study Performance Report (LKPS) and Self-Evaluation Report (LED). Each criterion was supported by teams from LPMPP and the UPM-GPM FMIPA UNEJ. The task force team had previously worked based on the agreed criteria. “The Mathematics task force team has already been working according to the criteria that were set,” said Kusbudiono, S.Si., M.Si., the head of the accreditation task force. Kusbudiono hopes that by the end of the discussions, each criterion team will be able to complete their work to submit to LAMSAMA. Continue reading
