This was conveyed at the Focus Group Discussion of Perumusan Strategi Percepatan Tugas Akhir S1 dan Integrasi dengan Program MBKM at Meotel Jember (14-15/12). The Dean also conveyed that as a guide for students and study programs, Studi/Proyek Independen Team (S/P-I) has launched a guide that can be downloaded on the FMIPA UNEJ website. In the FGD which was attended by the Head of the Department, Komisi Bimbingan Team, and Studi/Proyek Independen Team, the Dean also mentioned the Dean’s expectations for all study programs at FMIPA to prepare ASIIN accreditation. ASIIN’s international accreditation that leads to IKU is international recognition,” he hoped. Also attending the FGD, Fenny Indriani, S.Si. alumni of Department of Biology angkatan 2016 which tells the experience during the final project. “I hope that the implementation of the final project at FMIPA will be accelerated, especially at the results seminar stage, maybe through this activity this can be discussed,” said Fenny who is now working at PT. Sumber Alfaria Trijaya, Tbk (Alfamart) Jember in HRD position. The next session, Vice Dean for Academic FMIPA UNEJ Drs. Siswoyo, M.Sc., Ph.D. present about the acceleration of the final project at FMIPA UNEJ. “Relevant issues that led to the final project period were a visible thesis model, study program/faculty efforts to reduce thesis period, simple and fast thesis procedures and integration of thesis with Independent Studies/Projects through the guidelines that have been released,” he explained..
After the presentation of Vice Dean for Academic FMIPA UNEJ, it was continued by delivering the latest condition of the student’s final project in the study program by each Komisi Bimbingan (Kombi). Beginning with Department of Biology, represented by Dra. Susantin Fajariyah, M.Sc., followed by Nurul Priyantari, S.Si., M.Si. representing the kombi of Department of Physics, Kombi Department of Mathematics was represented by Dr. Agustina Pradjaningsih, S.Si., M.Si. and kombi presentation ended with the Department of Chemistry represented by Drs. Zulfikar, Ph.D. The panel discussion to respond to and resolve problems regarding the final project that was revealed at the presentation of the guidance commission was led by Vice Dean for Academic of FMIPA UNEJ.
To discuss and develop a strategy for completing the final project, the division of work groups was carried out. “To be able to exchange information and opinions, our working groups are no longer in the same department, but head of department groups, kombi groups and Studi/Proyek Independen team groups,” explained Siswoyo. The discussion was quite intense, a kombi group that could exchange information and problems in each study program. Among them are proposals to speed up the final project, all KeRis courses are taught with an even distribution of students to all lecturers, the output is a proposal. The combi team also makes a final assignment assessment rubric. The S/P-I team group proposes the evaluation results in 3 grades, to bridge the final project not only 6 credits, but to solve problems independently or independently. All the results of the discussion were presented in a panel discussion at the end of the first day of the FGD.
The second day of the FGD began with a discussion of the results of each working group’s presentation in the evening. The discussion was led by the Vice Dean for Academic of FMIPA to make conclusions which could later be stated in a special document or a final assignment guide. Cross-team discussions made the FGD agenda produce important points in the final project. The guidelines also contain a strategy for accelerating the final project and its integration with the MBKM Program BKP. At the end of the event, it ended with the finalization of the preparation of documents and Dean of FMIPA UNEJ officially closed the FGD event with the hope that everything that had been agreed upon could be implemented soon.
