The Lembaga Akreditasi Mandiri Sains Alam dan Ilmu Formal (LAMSAMA) Team held a field assessment of the accreditation of the Undergraduate Mathematics Study Program, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, University of Jember. Rector of University of Jember Dr. Ir. Iwan Taruna, M.Eng., IPM., ASEAN Eng. and Vice Rector of UNEJ for Academic Affairs Prof. Drs. Slamin, M.Comp.Sc., Ph.D. together with the Dean of FMIPA UNEJ Prof. Drs. Dafik, M.Sc., Ph.D. accompanied the assessor team in the opening ceremony of the field assessment (16-17/6). The assessor team consisted of Prof. Dr. Sri Wahyuni, S.U. from Gadjah Mada University and Prof. Alhadi Bustamam, M.Kom., Ph.D. from the Universitas Indonesia.
In his opening remarks, Iwan Taruna hoped that the Undergraduate Mathematics Study Program would be able to achieve UNGGUL accreditation. “With good cooperation from the taskforce team, I hope that the Mathematics study program will achieve the UNGGUL predicate in order to improve UNEJ’s IKU,” he said. The Chancellor said that the field visitation is a process of verifying the accreditation files that the study program has submitted. “The visitation is a process of verifying accreditation documents, as a place to convince assessors with the accreditation taskforce,” he continued. The Chancellor officially opened the field assessment of the Bachelor of Mathematics Study Program. Present at the opening of the visitation were leaders and representatives from supporting institutions at the University of Jember such as LPMPP, LP2M, UPA UPA TIK, Postgraduate, UPA Library and UPA Language.
Next, the Vice Chancellor I of UNEJ delivered a presentation on the Profile of the University of Jember. Several achievements and accomplishments of UNEJ at national and international levels were displayed. “In recent times, UNEJ has achieved many national and international achievements, both students, lecturers, education staff and institutions,” explained Prof. Slamin. It was said that the achievements were supported by facilities that continued to be built as support. Previously, the Dean of FMIPA Prof. Drs. Dafik, M.Sc., Ph.D. in line with the UNEJ Chancellor hopes that the Mathematics Undergraduate Study Program can achieve UNGGUL accreditation. “Hopefully the efforts of the Mathematics Study Program Taskforce team can be a blessing by getting UNGGUL accreditation,” he hoped.
Prof. Dr. Sri Wahyuni, S.U. and Prof. Alhadi Bustamam, M.Kom., Ph.D. at the opening of the accreditation field assessment event also hoped that all sessions that had been prepared for the two days could run well and smoothly. “We hope that all sessions at the field assessment stage can be carried out well according to the LKPS data that has been uploaded, as the Chancellor said we will do clarification,” said Prof. Dr. Sri Wahyuni, S.U. The opening ended with a photo session with the Chancellor, Vice Chancellor I, Dean of FMIPA and the LAMSAMA assessor team.
The first day of visitation began with a session with the Faculty Leaders, Study Program Managers and the team from LPMPP UNEJ. The presentation was led directly by the Dean and accompanied by the Vice Deans of FMIPA UNEJ. Continued with a session with the Mathematics Undergraduate Study Program task force to confirm LKPS and LED data. After the break, the assessor team met with the study program management consisting of representatives from the Mathematics Lab, Research Group, and FMIPA administration. Continued with alumni and stakeholders which was carried out in a hybrid manner. The first day was closed with a session with representatives of mathematics students per batch.
The second day began with checking the facilities and infrastructure of the Mathematics Undergraduate Study Program. Prof. Dr. Sri Wahyuni, S.U. and Prof. Alhadi Bustamam, M.Kom., Ph.D. visited the Mathematics Undergraduate Study Program FMIPA to see the facilities and infrastructure. Continued to tour around to see supporting facilities such as the Library UPA, LPMPP and Medical Center. Returning to the Dean’s Office, conducting a session with non-taskforce member educators, continued with educational staff. The assessor team then carried out independent work to prepare draft minutes and accreditation recommendations. Continued with the delivery of feedback and signing of the minutes and assessment report by the two assessors together with the Dean of FMIPA accompanied by the Head of the Undergraduate Mathematics Study Program. The LAMSAMA field assessment was closed with the handover of the minutes and assessment report.
