TAJEMTRA 2025 was held again, an annual traditional event organized by the Jember Regency Government, and has become a regular agenda for the UNEJ FMIPA team to participate in TAJEMTRA. Consisting of FMIPA educational staff, the team took part in a 30-kilometer walking activity from Tanggul to Jember (23/8). This year, they again unfurled the banner of the UNEJ FMIPA slogan “Create, Innovate and Achieve,” wanting to echo the UNEJ FMIPA slogan to the outside community. “Besides exercising, the UNEJ FMIPA team has a vision to echo the UNEJ FMIPA to the Jember community, a warehouse of young scientist candidates,” said Verry, the UNEJ FMIPA team coordinator. Support also came from the leadership of UNEJ FMIPA, the Dean and all Vice Dean in FMIPA. In addition to funds, moral support was also provided by accompanying the UNEJ FMIPA team to depart.
Starting from the embankment and finishing at Jember Square, the FMIPA UNEJ team passed through various beautiful rural landscapes. Along the route, local residents were also enthusiastic in providing support by providing drinking water and cheering. “Not only FMIPA, there are several teams from faculties at UNEJ who also regularly take part in TAJEMTRA, we met several times and we are very happy to be able to participate again,” continued Verry. The Dean of FMIPA UNEJ, Prof. Drs. Dafik, M.Sc., Ph.D. advised the FMIPA team to follow in an orderly manner and enliven TAJEMTRA 2025 and convey the message to the wider community through the FMIPA UNEJ slogan “Create, Innovate, and Achieve.” “We, the leaders of FMIPA, always support the TAJEMTRA team, to participate and echo the spirit to the people of Jember and also get to know FMIPA UNEJ better,” said Prof. Dafik.
Along the way, the UNEJ Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) team had the opportunity to interact with other participants from various backgrounds. This provided valuable experience in understanding and appreciating diversity within the broader community. The TAJEMTRA team from the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) and the Faculty of Computer Science (Fasilkom) of the University of Jember were also seen waiting and cheering on the team as they made their way through the streets of Jember. “We waited, and there were some drinks to quench our thirst for the FMIPA team. The tiredness and joy were evident on the faces of the 2025 TAJEMTRA road warriors,” said one UNEJ Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) member in the Jubung area of Jember. The TAJEMTRA team also reconnected with alumni members of the FMIPA community by relaxing at their homes.
After reaching the finish line at Jember’s town square, the two FMIPA teams were again greeted by the waiting FMIPA community. The team’s success in completing the 30-kilometer route symbolized their physical and mental strength, as well as their dedication to preserving local traditions. Their solidarity is rewarded with awards and, of course, capital to carry out routine activities on the UNEJ FMIPA campus. The team hopes to participate in the TAJEMTRA event again next year, with the continued support of the UNEJ FMIPA leadership. “May you be blessed with good health and the opportunity to participate in TAJEMTRA again in 2026,” the UNEJ FMIPA team hopes.
