Open Talk BPM, Aspiration Towards Action: Realizing Sustainable Synergy of FMIPA

Dean of FMIPA UNEJ Prof. Drs. Dafik, M.Sc., Ph.D. along with the Vice Deans, Head of Department, Head of Laboratory, Head of General Affairs and Deputy Coordinator of Fields in FMIPA attended the Open Talk agenda (16/5). Open Talk is an activity held by the Student Representative Body (BPM) of FMIPA UNEJ with the theme Aspiration Towards Action: Realizing Sustainable Synergy of FMIPA. The Dean gave the aspirations of this agenda as a means of communication between students and the ranks of faculty leaders. “The Faculty of MIPA is not only lecturers or education staff but also students, therefore it is called the academic community, so through this agenda we work together to advance FMIPA,” he said. Prof. Dafik also said that student input to the leadership is a form of care and affection for the leadership in order to work together to maintain and advance FMIPA.

Open Talk raised current issues in the FMIPA environment related to academics, facilities, services, and student activities in general. Student representatives through student organizations provided input and questions to be responded to by the FMIPA leadership. Academic issues about changing schedules became a topic of discussion. Students often face schedule changes, there are several reasons and the solution given is communication with the lecturer. “Communicate with the lecturer, convey the reasons, objections to reach an agreed meeting point so that no one is harmed,” said the Dean of FMIPA.

The next discussion was about lecture material, in this topic it was agreed that lecturers must refer to the existing RPS and students are expected to actively ask questions and discuss. Also mentioned were practical materials and facilities in the Laboratory. Vice Dean II Dr. Esti Utarti, S.P., M.Si. said that during this national efficiency period, FMIPA continues to strive for the best by prioritizing priorities and shared materials. “We continue to strive for the best with a priority scale and the use of shared materials, improvements are also being made in the midst of the current efficiency era,” she explained.

Regarding ORMAWA, Vice Dean III Dr. Edy Supriyanto, S.Si., M.Si. said that the disbursement of funds was adjusted to the budget that had been set. One of the Open Talk participants also asked about competitions and training for students. Dr. Edy explained that there are several national competitions being prepared by UNEJ students such as ONMIPA, Satria Data and PKM which are in the selection process. “The national competition agenda is under the auspices of Puspresnas, please join us, we will prepare accompanying lecturers, as well as PKM which is in the selection stage by reviewers, and I hope FMIPA is able to speak,” he hoped.

The next discussion was about parking and building repairs at FMIPA. Open Talk participants hope that vehicle parking at FMIPA can be neatly arranged. The Deputy for General Affairs and BMN and Deputy Dean II of FMIPA said that with the existing parking facilities and personnel, they will continue to strive for the best service. “We optimize the existing facilities, location arrangements, according to suggestions, we will arrange it so that the position of the vehicles can be level and not piled up in one place, in the afternoon after 4 o’clock you can park in the four-wheeled parking area,” said Vice Dean II. Building repairs, especially the ORMAWA building, will also continue to be attempted by the general division, of course with the support of students who also maintain the facilities.

Maintaining facilities by students was also mentioned by the Head of the Biology Department so that students can maintain the cleanliness of the room, rearrange the borrowed room and minimize night events. “In addition to demanding, it is also appropriate to take care of and care about the facilities and infrastructure in the study program, because they also belong to students,” requested Mrs. Retno. The Head of the Mathematics Laboratory at the Open Talk promoted the use of Lab. Computer 3 can be used together by all FMIPA students. “Use it together, consult on application needs, we will serve all FMIPA students with sophisticated computers of course with rules agreed upon between users and laboratory managers,” explained Mrs. Agustina.

With Open Talk, it is hoped that students can get responses and explanations openly from related parties, so that clarity is created from both parties. All actual issues of student problems are conveyed and responded to well by policy makers. The 2025 agenda this time took place in the Hall on the 3rd floor of Building I, Mathematics Department, FMIPA UNEJ. Taking place from 14.00 to 16.30, the Open Talk went smoothly and became a Space for FMIPA Students’ Aspirations which is the slogan of BPM FIMPA UNEJ.
