Physics Students from the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, University of Jember, Visit the BRIN Nuclear Facility in Yogyakarta

Undergraduate Physics students from the University of Jember conducted an academic visit to the nuclear facility owned by the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN), located in the Ahmad Baiquni Science and Technology Area (KST), Yogyakarta. The visit took place on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Western Indonesian Time (WIB). Twenty-two students from the Vector Physics Student Association (HIMAFI) and the Nuclear Physics Club (NPC), along with two Physics lecturers as advisors, participated.

The visit aimed to provide students with a firsthand understanding of the application of physics, particularly in the field of nuclear power. Furthermore, it served as a means to strengthen the collaboration between the University of Jember and the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN). The student group was accompanied by two advisors, Dr. Ratna Dewi Syarifah and Nindha Ayu Berlianti, M.Si. Inauguration of Solar Cell and Windmill Based Coffee Drying House in Pace Village, Silo, Jember

On Friday, August 23, 2024, the PPK Ormawa Himafi FMIPA Team of Jember University inaugurated a solar cell and windmill-based coffee dryer house in Pace Village, Silo District, Jember Regency. Several officials of Jember University were present. Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs and Alumni of University of Jember, Dean along with Vice Dean I and Vice Dean III of FMIPA UNEJ, Head of the Physics Department of FMIPA, Supervising Lecturers, and Coordinator of the Student Affairs and Alumni Working Group of UNEJ. Meanwhile, regional officials were present: Silo Sub-district Head, Pace Village Head, Babinsa and Bhabinkamtibmas, Head of Pace BUMDES, Farmers Group Association, Head of LMDH, Hamlet Head, Pace Village apparatus. Several KKN Collaboration students, and of course the entire PPK Ormawa UNEJ Team

It began with a speech by the Supervising Lecturer of the PPK Ormawa HIMAFI Team, Nindha Ayu Berlianti, S.Pd., S.Si., M.Si, who reported on the implementation from the beginning of the program to the inauguration of the coffee drying house. This program is part of community service that not only focuses on increasing coffee productivity, but also on environmental sustainability. “We hope that this innovation can be a model for other regions in Indonesia that have the potential for coffee development, and can help farmers improve the quality of their harvest at a more efficient and environmentally friendly cost,” she said. HIMAFI FMIPA UNEJ Team Passes Funding for the 2024 ORMAWA PPK Program

The Himpunan Mahasiswa Fisika (HIMAFI) Team of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences passed funding for the Student Organization Capacity Strengthening Program (PPK ORMAWA) in 2024. Together with 19 other subproposals, HIMAFI delivered the University of Jember to first place together with the Bogor Agricultural Institute. With the theme “SMART FARMINGRumah Pengering Kopi Berbasis Solar Cell dan Kincir Angin Guna Optimalisasi Produksi Kopi di Desa Pace Kec. Silo Kab. Jember“, the HIMAFI Team together with 622 subproposal titles from 158 universities received funding.

The Student Organization Capacity Strengthening Program is aimed at developing competent knowledge mastery, character and noble character, love of the country, global insight, critical thinking skills, creative thinking, collaboration, good communication skills. reliable (communication skills), digitally literate, and humanist or loving others (compassion). Participants involved include Badan Eksekutif Mahasiswa (BEM), Unit Kegiatan Mahasiawa (UKM), Himpunan Mahasiswa Program Studi (HMPS), and other forms of ORMAWA. Continue reading
