The Independent Accreditation Institute for Natural Sciences and Formal Sciences (LAMSAMA) team held a field assessment of the accreditation of the UNEJ FMIPA Biology Masters Study Program. Deputy Chancellor I University of Jember Prof. Drs. Slamin, M.Comp.Sc., Ph.D., together with the Dean of FMIPA UNEJ Drs. Achamd Sjaifullah, M.Sc., Ph.D., accompany the assessor team at the opening of the field assessment (18/12). The assessor team consists of Prof. Dr. Bambang Heru Budianto, M.S., from Jenderal Soedirman University Purwokerto, and Prof. Dr. Sri Puji Wahyuningsih, M.Si., from Airlangga University Surabaya..
Vice Chancellor I UNEJ Prof. Slamin delivered a presentation regarding the profile of Jember University. In his presentation, the vision and mission, number of faculties and postgraduates, study programs, teaching staff, education, and students active at UNEJ, UNEJ’s achievements, and the direction of UNEJ’s development from 2004 to 2028 were presented. “In recent years, the accreditation of study programs with superior achievements at UNEJ has increased, in line with several achievements at the national level,” he explained. UNEJ’s success as the organizer of the annual agenda, namely Abdidaya ORMAWA in 2023, was also touched on, along with achievements with medals in several categories contested.
Previously, in his speech, the Dean of FMIPA at UNEJ hoped that the accreditation field assessment could run smoothly and get the best accreditation. “We hope that the field assessment will run smoothly and the biology master’s study program can achieve excellence after exactly last year the chemistry and physics undergraduate study program achieved excellence from LAMSAMA,” he hoped. Don’t forget to welcome the assessor team on the UNEJ campus and the Mathematics and Natural Sciences Faculty.

At the opening of accreditation field assessment event, he also hoped that all the sessions that had been scheduled for two days could be carried out well. “We also hope that all sessions in the assessment stage can run well according to the LKPS data that has been uploaded,” said Prof. Dr. Bambang Heru Budianto, M.S.
The first day began with a session with faculty leaders, study program managers, and the team from LPMPP UNEJ. The presentation was led directly by the Dean and accompanied by the Deputy Deans of FMIPA and UNEJ. This was followed by a session with the Biology Master’s Study Program task force to confirm LKPS data and also Unit Pengelola Program Studi (UPPS) data. Followed by a session with internal quality assurance implementers. The break was closed with a session with the study program accreditation team to confirm the data and information in the Laporan Evaluasi Diri (LED).
After the ishoma, it was continued with a parallel meeting session to confirm the performance, involvement, service, and satisfaction of lecturers and education staff. Followed by sessions with students to confirm student involvement, achievements, service, and satisfaction. And hybrid sessions with alumni and external users to get information about hopes, satisfaction, or input from stakeholders and alumni regarding UPPS output. The first day closed with a visit to facilities and infrastructure by assessors.
The second day will discuss the delivery of event reports to UPPS leaders and checking field assessment minutes by university leaders. The minutes of the event were prepared on the first day through the independent work of the assessor team. After that, the minutes and assessment report were signed by the two assessors as well as the Dean of FMIPA, accompanied by the Head of the Biology Masters Study Program. This was followed by the closing of the field assessment of the FMIPA biology master’s study program with the handover of minutes and assessment reports..
