LAMSAMA Accreditation Field Assessment, Biology Masters Study Program, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Jember University

The Independent Accreditation Institute for Natural Sciences and Formal Sciences (LAMSAMA) team held a field assessment of the accreditation of the UNEJ FMIPA Biology Masters Study Program. Deputy Chancellor I University of Jember Prof. Drs. Slamin, M.Comp.Sc., Ph.D., together with the Dean of FMIPA UNEJ Drs. Achamd Sjaifullah, M.Sc., Ph.D., accompany the assessor team at the opening of the field assessment (18/12). The assessor team consists of Prof. Dr. Bambang Heru Budianto, M.S., from Jenderal Soedirman University Purwokerto, and Prof. Dr. Sri Puji Wahyuningsih, M.Si., from Airlangga University Surabaya..

Vice Chancellor I UNEJ Prof. Slamin delivered a presentation regarding the profile of Jember University. In his presentation, the vision and mission, number of faculties and postgraduates, study programs, teaching staff, education, and students active at UNEJ, UNEJ’s achievements, and the direction of UNEJ’s development from 2004 to 2028 were presented. “In recent years, the accreditation of study programs with superior achievements at UNEJ has increased, in line with several achievements at the national level,” he explained. UNEJ’s success as the organizer of the annual agenda, namely Abdidaya ORMAWA in 2023, was also touched on, along with achievements with medals in several categories contested. Continue reading →

Preparing to Achieve Unggul Accreditation from LAMSAMA, FST UNDANA Chemistry Study Program Comparative Study to FMIPA UNEJ Chemistry Study Program

The Undergraduate Chemistry Study Program, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Jember University received study visit from the Chemistry Study Program, Faculty of Science and Engineering, Nusa Cendana University, Kupang (26/10). The aim of the visit was to obtain information on the LAMSAMA Study Program accreditation. “We came to learn how to achieve superior accreditation because currently our study program is in the process of preparing to apply for re-accreditation in June 2024,” said Prof. Dr. Febri Odel Nitbai, S.Si., M.Si., as Coordinator of the UNDANA FST Chemistry Study Program. Prof. Febri hopes that the FMIPA Chemistry Study Program can transmit and provide the information needed to become a Superior Accredited Study Program.

The team from UNDANA was received by the Dean of FMIPA at UNEJ, Drs. Achmad Sjaifullah, M.Sc., Ph.D., who is also a lecturer in the Chemistry Study Program. Accompanied by Deputy Dean I FMIPA Drs. Siswoyo, M.Sc., Ph.D., Head of Chemistry Study Program, Prof. Dr. Anak Agung Istri Ratnadewi, S.Si., M.Si., warmly welcomed the arrival of the team to share accreditation information with each other. “Welcome! We present the complete formation of the FMIPA Chemistry Accreditation Team, which has successfully achieved superior accreditation. Visitation of ASIIN International Accreditation for Undergraduate Biology Study Program FMIPA UNEJ

Department of Biologi, FMIPA and Master degree of Biotechnology University of Jember carried out ASIIN’s international accreditation visitation (15-16/12). The Akcreditierungsagentur für Studiengänge der Ingenieurwissenschaften, der Informatik, der Naturwissenschaften und der Mathematik or ASIIN team held a meeting with the heads of institutions at UNEJ on the first day. The ASIIN Peer Group consists of Prof. Dr. Friedhelm Meinhardt, University of Muenster, Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Nellen, Kassel University, Yayang Vionita, PT Cinquer Agro Nusantara, Fatima Qonita Nazihah, State University of Surabaya.

They are with ASIIN Office Dr. Iring Wasser heard presentations on university development, institution profiles, teaching studies. Jember University leadership also gave presentations on collaboration with stakeholders, perspective on resource development, institutional facilities, communication and coordination, study organization and management, teaching to students and quality management at the university level. Chemistry Study Program and Physics Study Program FMIPA received the Predicate of UNGGUL Accreditation from LAMSAMA

Two Undergraduate Study Programs at FMIPA are Chemistry and Physics received UNGGUL accreditation. This is based on the decision of Lembaga Akreditasi Mandiri Sains Alam dan Ilmu Formal (LAMSAMA) Number 008/SK/LAMSAMA/Akred/S/XII/2022 for Chemistry Study Program. And LAMSAMA decision Number 015/SK/LAMSAMA/Akred/S/XII/2022 for the Physics Study Program (15/12). The achievement of superior accreditation is very proud for both study programs and also for all FMIPA members. “All of us FMIPA UNEJ, especially the two study programs, are very grateful for this achievement, hard work produces the best results at the end of the year,” said the Dean.

The success of the Chemistry and Physics undergraduate study program at FMIPA was an effort made by all parties. Each study program through its accreditation team prepares forms, supported by lecturers, students, alumni and stakeholders working hand in hand to achieve the title of Excellent accreditation. Jember University leadership also plays a role in the LAMSAMA accreditation process. This was seen during the field assessment of the two study programs, the Rector and Vice Rector I UNEJ were present to accompany the visitation process. Continue reading →

Director of PTPN XII East Java: Quo Vadis, a Physics graduate, want and can go anywhere?

The Department of Physics, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, University of Jember has a golden opportunity to hold a Guest Lecture that presents Siwi Peni, S.Si., M.M. Director of PT. Nusantara XII Plantation, East Java (16/9). Guest lecture with the theme “Quo Vadis, a Physics graduate, want and can go anywhere?” carried out in 2 sessions, namely a sharing session and a question session.

To note, “Quo Vadis” is a sentence from Latin which literally means “where are you going?”. This theme was taken to provide motivation for students in determining their direction after completing their studies in Physics. In the sharing session, Siwi Peni shared her experience in achieving her goals until she was finally able to stand at her current point. “Aspirations and goals are very important in achieving success. Department of Biology FMIPA holds FGD, prepares ASIIN SAR documents

Department of Biology, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, University of Jember held a FGD for the Preparation of the ASIIN Self Assessment Report (SAR) Document for application of international accreditation for the Biology Undergraduate Study Program (31/3-2/4) at Kalibaru Cottages Banyuwangi which was attended by 16 people . The activity was to prepare evidence and ASIIN SAR documents consisting of 6 criteria, Criteria 1: The Degree Program: Concept, Content & Implementation, Criteria 2: ASIIN The Degree Program: Structures, Methods and Implementation, Criteria 3: ASIIN Exams: System, Concept and Organization, Criteria 4: ASIIN Resources Criteria 5: ASIIN Transparency and Documentation, Criteria 6: ASIIN Quality Management: Quality Assessment and Development. To note, the Department of Biology, FMIPA UNEJ has been preparing to apply for ASIIN international accreditation some time ago. PS Biology wants to follow his colleagues, namely the Agribusiness Study Program and Agrotechnology Study Program at Faculty of Agriculture, as well as the Biology Education Study Program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, University of Jember, which has previously won the Akcreditierungsagentur für Studiengänge der Ingenieurwissenschaften, der Informatics, der Naturwissenschaften und der Mathematik or ASIIN.
