In his graduation speech, the Dean congratulated the graduates. “On behalf of the institution, I would like to congratulate you on your graduation and achievements for at least 4 years in completing your studies at FMIPA UNEJ,” began the Dean of FMIPA. It was also said that the institution is proud because every year the number of graduates who arrive on time with an impressive achievement index continues to increase.

“At the start of this odd lecture, FMIPA will continue to improve to develop big desires and aspirations. I have a big goal of 3.5 to the power of 4 in mathematical terms,” he continued. Continuing, the first 3.5 is as much as possible for 3.5-year FMIPA students to take the thesis exam; the second is as much as possible to get a GPA of 3.5 to compete with competitors in the world of work. “The next 3.5 is the 3.5 month waiting period for FMIPA graduates to get a job, and the last 3.5 million is the first salary that FMIPA graduates get,” hoped the Dean, who was accompanied by the Vice Deans and the UNEJ FMIPA Senate at the senate session. 99th Judiciary of Bachelor of Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Jember University Period 9 Academic Year 2023/2024

FMIPA UNEJ again held the 99th Judicial Session of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, University of Jember, Period 9 Academic Year 2023/2024 (25/4). 19 prospective graduates attended the open meeting of the FMIPA senate in the public lecture room of the FMIPA Biology Department. Led and opened directly by the Dean of FMIPA, Prof. Drs. Dafik, M.Sc., Ph.D., the procession took place solemnly. In his judicial speech, the dean congratulated him and advised him to always remember the services of his parents. “Because of their services, now you are a graduate candidate, so make them happy; invite them to feel happy tomorrow when they graduate,” began the dean. It was also said that after graduation tomorrow, the graduates will enter the real-world community.

“That’s where persistence and toughness will be tested; if you still depend on your parents, then the education you have received so far has not been fully achieved,” he continued. So a transfer of skills is needed-a skill that can be transformed to face any challenge. Prof. Dafik said the key is not to complain easily and not to give up easily. “There is a lot that can be achieved; FMIPA alumni have flexibility because they have been equipped with basic sciences that can be adapted to various fields of work,” said the dean, who was accompanied by the Vice Deans at the senate meeting. Ethics and Skills Lead Niam, an FMIPA Chemistry Alumni, to Become a Quality Manager at Puslit KoKa Jember

“UNEJ FMIPA alumni have good logic that other graduates don’t necessarily have, because the emphasis in a job is logical thinking,” began Muhammad Bahrul Niam, Chemistry Department Alumni, at the FMIPA Alumni Sharing event (8/9). Niam, as he is familiarly called, tells of his struggles while studying at FMIPA, starting his career, and now holding a position at Pusat Penelitian Kopi dan Kakao Indonesia. “I was one of the last residents while studying, but my determination to get a job was so high that I moved to Surabaya,” he said.

Niam continued that carrying out work requires a little “pencitraan“, of course supported by qualified abilities in the field of work pursued. “The image here is to show that we are also capable, that we can, of course, with the support of the skills we have, and I have applied that in Surabaya until now,” he said. The FMIPA UNEJ Alumni Sharing was attended by 30 prospective graduates and female graduates who will take part in period 2 undergraduate and postgraduate graduations at the University of Jember for the 2023–2024 academic year.
