In preparation for the 2025 PKKMB, the Dean of the FMIPA UNEJ urges new students to be friendly and free from bullying.

“We welcome new FMIPA students with friendly service, and this year, in accordance with the UNEJ Rector’s instructions, there will be no more bullying,” said the Dean of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA), Prof. Drs. Dafik, M.Sc., Ph.D., at the 2025 FMIPA PKKMB committee coordination meeting. The Dean also encouraged the committee to provide the best service to new students to create a positive impression of the faculty. “A friendly smile will make new students feel comfortable, and excellent service will be maintained,” he said. The Dean hopes that the student mentors will implement this, as hazing or bullying are no longer acceptable for new students.

University of Jember seriousness about bullying was evident at the signing of the Integrity Pact for the 2025 PKKMB in the Entrepreneurship Building. UNEJ Rector Iwan Taruna stated that PKKMB must be a safe, comfortable, and violence-free activity for all new students. Iwan Taruna emphasized to all the Deans in attendance that UNEJ’s 2025 PKKMB must be free from all forms of bullying, by overseeing the implementation of PKKMB. Graduation Ceremony of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, University of Jember, Period I, Academic Year 2025/2026

FMIPA UNEJ held the 78th Postgraduate (S2) and 110th Undergraduate Graduation of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, University of Jember, period I, Academic Year 2025/2026 (24/7). Held at the Auditorium of the Entrepreneurship Building, University of Jember. In the graduation speech, Deputy Dean I of FMIPA UNEJ Prof. Dra. Hari Sulistiyowati, M.Sc., Ph.D. said that graduation is not the end of a journey. “Graduation is a gateway to a greater world that will be traversed, namely the world of work, community service and further self-development,” she said. It is said that an academic degree is not a symbol but an internal, intellectual and moral responsibility that must be maintained.

Prof. Hari invited the graduates to become graduates who are not only intelligent but also have integrity. “Bring the good name of the FMIPA UNEJ alma mater wherever you go and become agents of change in society,” she continued. He also congratulated and congratulated all the graduates and invited them to prepare for the future after the graduation ceremony next weekend. Physics Students from the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, University of Jember, Visit the BRIN Nuclear Facility in Yogyakarta

Undergraduate Physics students from the University of Jember conducted an academic visit to the nuclear facility owned by the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN), located in the Ahmad Baiquni Science and Technology Area (KST), Yogyakarta. The visit took place on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Western Indonesian Time (WIB). Twenty-two students from the Vector Physics Student Association (HIMAFI) and the Nuclear Physics Club (NPC), along with two Physics lecturers as advisors, participated.

The visit aimed to provide students with a firsthand understanding of the application of physics, particularly in the field of nuclear power. Furthermore, it served as a means to strengthen the collaboration between the University of Jember and the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN). The student group was accompanied by two advisors, Dr. Ratna Dewi Syarifah and Nindha Ayu Berlianti, M.Si. Biology Undergraduate Study Program FMIPA UNEJ Achieves UNGGUL Accreditation from LAMSAMA

The academic community of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, University of Jember received two good news in early July 2025. Among them, the Biology Undergraduate Study Program FMIPA UNEJ achieved UNGGUL accreditation. It is stated in the decision of the Lembaga Akreditasi Mandiri Sains Alam dan Ilmu Formal (LAMSAMA) Number 205/SK/LAMSAMA/Akred/S/VII/2025 dated July 7, 2025. The accreditation is valid from the date of determination until July 6, 2030. At the same time, the Mathematics Undergraduate Study Program also received UNGGUL. The achievement of UNGGUL accreditation complements the ASIIN international accreditation that was previously achieved. “Congratulations to the biology undergraduate study program for achieving the UNGGUL accreditation predicate from LAMSAMA, and completing the previous achievement which has been internationally accredited by ASIIN,” said the Dean of FMIPA UNEJ Prof. Drs. Dafik, M.Sc., Ph.D.

In a separate place, Dr. Retno Wimbaningrum, M.Si. Head of the Biology Undergraduate Study Program said that the UNGGUL achievement was the result of hard work through its accreditation team preparing forms, supported by lecturers, students, alumni and stakeholders. “After achieving ASIIN accreditation, the biology undergraduate study program has now achieved UNGGUL from LAMSAMA, completing the biology master’s study program which is also accredited UNGGUL, congratulations to the team and the FMIPA Biology community,” said Retno. The leadership of the University of Jember also played a role and supported the LAMSAMA accreditation process. During the field assessment, the Chancellor, Vice Chancellor I, Head of UPA ICT, Director of Postgraduate Studies and representatives of LPMPP were present. The Undergraduate Mathematics Study Program at the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) at the University of Jember Receives UNGUL ​​Accreditation from LAMSAMA

Early this July, the academic community of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) at the University of Jember received two pieces of good news. Among them, the Undergraduate Mathematics Study Program (PSSM) at the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) at UNEJ received UNGUL ​​accreditation. This is stated in the decision of the Lembaga Akreditasi Mandiri Sains Alam dan Ilmu Formal (LAMSAMA) Number 201/SK/LAMSAMA/Akred/S/VII/2025, dated July 7, 2025. The accreditation is valid from the date of issuance until July 6, 2030. This UNGUL ​​accreditation is a source of great pride for the PSSM and the entire FMIPA community at UNEJ. “Achieving UNGUL ​​accreditation from LAMSAMA is the result of the hard work of the task force and PSSM management, as well as the collaboration of several parties, including students and alumni of the Undergraduate Mathematics Study Program,” said the Dean of FMIPA UNEJ, Prof. Drs. Dafik, M.Sc., Ph.D.

Contacted separately, Dr. Kiswara Agung Santoso, S.Si., M.Si., Head of the Undergraduate Mathematics Study Program, stated that achieving UNGGUL (Excellent) is the result of hard work by his accreditation team, who prepared the forms, supported by lecturers, students, alumni, and stakeholders. “From the beginning of preparation, we have always coordinated with the task force, the undergraduate mathematics study program community, the leadership of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA), and with assistance from LPMPP UNEJ,” said Kiswara. The University of Jember leadership also played a role and supported the LAMSAMA accreditation process. Guest Lecture on Statistics and Data Science in Business Competition Analysis by KPPU Commissioner Dr. Eugenia Mardanugraha

The importance of implementing a quantitative approach, including statistics and econometrics, in identifying and evaluating the behavior of business actors that have the potential to violate the principles of fair competition. Revealed by Dr. Eugenia Mardanugraha, S.Si., M.E. Commissioner of Komisi Pengawas Persaingan Usaha (KPPU) who is also a Lecturer at the Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Indonesia. In the guest lecture “Statistics and Data Science in Business Competition Analysis” held by the Data Science Research Group and MOCO, Department of Mathematics, FMIPA UNEJ (7/7). Dr. Eugenia also explained that Law No. 5 of 1999 is the basis for KPPU to prevent monopolistic practices, cartels, and unfair market control. The guest lecture was held offline at the UNEJ Entrepreneurship Building and online on the UNEJ FMIPA Youtube channel.

Previously at the opening, the Dean of FMIPA UNEJ, Prof. Drs. Dafik, M.Sc., Ph.D. invited the participants to get to know KPPU and the role of statistics and data science in business competition. “It is an honor for FMIPA, Dr. Eugenia from KPPU is pleased to attend and give a guest lecture for lecturers, students, practitioners in reviewing the role of statistics and data science for business competition analysis,” he said. A similar thing was also conveyed by Dr. Kiswara Agung Santoso, S.Si. M.Kom.
