Biology Undergraduate Study Program FMIPA UNEJ has now achieved full ASIIN International Accreditation

After receiving accreditation for a year and having fulfilled several requirements, the Biology Undergraduate Program FMIPA UNEJ has now succeeded in achieving full international accreditation from the Akkreditierungsagentur für Studiengänge der Ingenieurwissenschaften, der Informatik, der Naturwissenschaften und der Mathematik, or ASIIN. Several stages of assessment have been carried out since it was submitted in December 2022. The struggle continued until July 2023 to obtain limited recognition for one year, and has now been paid off with full accreditation until September 2028.

ASIIN accreditation of the Biology Undergraduate Program FMIPA UNEJ is in accordance with Level 6 of the European Qualifications Framework for Life-long Learning (EQF LLL). Accreditation Letter signed by Dr. Iring Wasser as Managing Director who was present during the ASIIN visit some time ago. Also signed by Prof. Dr. Kathrin Lehmann and Prof. Gert. Ingold as Chairperson of the Accreditation Commission. The accreditation letter dated April 9 2024 will be an encouragement for FMIPA Biology study program managers to improve national accreditation, namely LAMSAMA, next year. With hopes like the Biology Masters Study Program which has been accredited UNGGUL.

Department of Biology FMIPA UNEJ won ASIIN International Accreditation

After going through the assessment process since it was submitted in December 2022, the Undergraduate Program in Biology FMIPA UNEJ won International Accreditation from the Accrediterungsagentur für Studiengänge der Ingenieurwissenschaften, der Informatik, der Naturwissenschaften und der Mathematik or ASIIN. “We express our gratitude for the achievement of accreditation from ASIIN, after preparing and waiting for this happy news to finally come,” said Dr. Retno Wimbaningrum Head of Biology Study Program FMIPA..

ASIIN Accreditation for Biology Study Program FMIPA conforms to Level 6 of the European Qualifications Framework for Life-long Learning (EQF LLL) . Accreditation Letter signed by Dr. Iring Wasser as the Managing Director who was present at ASIIN’s visitation some time ago. The Head of the Biology Study Program hopes that ASIIN’s accreditation achievements can spread to all FMIPA study programs and also become an encouragement for the Biology Masters Study Program which is in the process of being re-accredited. “The ASIIN accreditation obtained will increase our enthusiasm and the re-accreditation team for the master of biology study program to achieve superior accreditation, hopefully,” he hoped. Department of Biology FMIPA UNEJ held The Fourth International Confrerence on Life Sciences and Biotechnology (ICOLIB) 2021

Department of Biology, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, University of Jember held The 4th International Conference on Life Sciences and Biotechnology (ICOLIB) 2021 online (15-16/11). ICOLIB is an international seminar which is held every two years. The first ICOLIB was held in 2015, followed by second in 2017, and the third in 2019. In 2021, The 4th ICOLIB has the theme “Towards Sustainable Development: Application of Biosciences to Improve Welfare and Quality of Life“. The Topics of 4th ICOLIB 2021 are Applied Sciences: Agriculture, Biotechnology & Bioinformatics, Basic Sciences: Ecology, Zoology, Botany, Microbiology, Biodiversity & Bio-coverservation, Health & Medicine: Pharmacy & Medical Sciences. The 4th ICOLIB 2021 presents 6 Keynote Speakers are Jorge A. Santiago, Ph.D. from the National Museum of Natural History, Washington, District of Columbia, USA, Prof. Dr. Ir. Antonius Suwanto, M.Sc. from the Department of Biology, Faculty of Science and Mathematics, Bogor Agricultural University, Bogor, Indonesia, Prof. Elvira Horandl from the University of Goettingen, Germany, Prof. Simon C Griffith from the Department of Biological Sciences Macquarie University, Sydney, NSW 2109, Australia, Prof. A.G.G. Groothuis and Dr. rer. nat. Christina Bauch from Department of Behavioural Biology, University of Groningen, Netherlands and Dr. Kahar Muzakhar, S.Si. Department of Biology, University of Jember. Dr. Asmoro Lelono, M.Si as chairman of The 4th ICOLIB 2021 said that more than 100 researchers sent their articles to follow this agenda. “Incoming articles will be reviewed by experts in their fields to be published in Atlantis Press – part of Springer Nature,” he explained.
